Your personal trainer should care about improving ALL of your life for as LONG as you live.
Kurt graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. His passion for movement and activity has been present ever since he was born (or so his parents would say). Walking as early as 8 months, he was always on his feet either playing outside, playing baseball, or involved in any form of physical activity while growing up. A few years after graduating, he became a certified personal trainer through NASM, and gained experience training individuals and groups at a club in the north metro. Kurt’s passions are helping people and exercising, and being a personal trainer proved the perfect role to combine those two together.
For a number of years, Kurt had the vision of running his own gym in the back of his mind. Spurred by some supportive friends, he started Northern Strength in March of 2020 directly prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since opening, he has been able to serve numerous people’s exercise needs, improve their strength, aid their quality of life and increase their longevity. Kurt especially enjoys teaching clients how to learn to lift weights safely in order to maximize the effectiveness of exercise and watching clients take pride in their own growth.
Kurt met his wife, Kaelyn, at their church and they have been married since 2019. Together they have two daughters and hope to continue to grow their family. Kurt enjoys time with his family and friends, working with his hands around the house and yard, and grilling meat when the weather allows it (which, as a hearty Minnesotan, is almost all year).
